From 9-13 August 2021 in Pokljuka, Slovenia, a summer school is co-organized by a Horizon 2020 project ValoFor, EVOLTREE and COST Action(s), in collaboration with the Slovenian Forestry Institute.
The 9th summer school on ‘Scientific writing, reviewing and publishing: Measures for protection and monitoring of forest genetic diversity & Communicating scientific results to small-scale forest owners, industries and policy-makers’ provides Ph.D. students, junior and senior researchers with training sessions on production, submission and reviewing process of scientific publications. It focuses on scientific writing and scientific publishing in exact sciences, and in (applied) biological and forestry sciences in particular.
On the first day, there is a presentation of the Manual and Guidelines for forest genetic monitoring (LIFEGENMON), the project assessing the influence of silvicultural systems on genetic diversity (LIFE SySTEMiC), presentation of ValoFor project and other projects and actions related to forest genetic monitoring.
Participation at the training school is free of charge. Participants cover their travel and accommodation expenses. Grants are available from COST Actions and EVOLTREE.
